My Adventures in Rio de Janeiro - Day 3

Monday, we took a walk to downtown Leblon with Guy. We had some shopping at the supermarket that needed doing.

Here is Guy as we are walking down the street in his neighborhood.

It is not unusual to see unique grafity on walls and buildings. Some of it is really quite good.

I like the mosiac look on the sidewalks.

Here is Lezlea and Guy.

The markets are full of uniqe and interesting foods. The smaller eggs are quail eggs. They are very popular and I am told taste pretty much the same as a chicken's egg.

Lezlea and I drink a lot of milk. The milk here is in boxes that don't have to be refrigerated (like some soy milk or rice milk in the states). It tasted good, we just went through a lot of boxes of it instead of gallons.

After shopping, we put Guy in a taxi home and Lezlea and I walked the remaining few blocks to the beach. (Leblon/Ipanema - are connected). We walked the length of the beach to the rocks overlooking Cobacabana as well.

Ironically, those houses lining the side of the mountain are the slums (favelas) of Rio. They have the best views.

The waves were pretty good today. You can barely see a surfer to the left in this picture.
